Ultrasound

What is Ultrasound Technology?
  • 2D Ultrasound -During a 2D ultrasound the technologist may visualize images made up of a series of thin images or slices with only one slice being visible at a time to create a flat looking picture of the baby.
  • 3D Ultrasound- During a 3D ultrasound thousands of sliced images called a volume of echoes are digitally stored to produce a 3 dimensional image which shows the outer surface of the baby demonstrating a life-like image.
  • 4D Ultrasound– is basically a 3D image in motion.
